Materials:

White tag board cut in a rectangular shape

Colored tissue paper

Scissors

Elmer’s glue

Q-tips to apply glue

Black Sharpies

Presentation:    Discuss line and Modigliani.

Procedure:

  1. Pass out white tag board. Write names on back. Orient vertically.
  2. Using a light color, cut out a rectangle from the tissue paper. Glue it on the tag board.
  3. Draw an oval in the middle for a face.
  4. Tear out a different color of tissue paper the size of the oval you drew. Glue tissue paper over the oval.
  5. Tear out a rectangle for the shoulders. Glue it down below the oval. It’s ok if they overlap.
  6. Tear out a rough shape for the hair. Glue it down.
  7. Add any other desired details with tissue paper: lips, cheeks, etc.
  8. When the glue dries, draw around the face with black Sharpie. Add a curve for the body and lines for a neck.
  9. Draw stylized features and add details to the hair.
